How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you become a business coach?
I will share with you a defining moment, and a resulting “compelling story”, that brought me to where I am now – coaching people like you on exactly what to do to gain clarity on your next move. That defining moment in my life happened in February 2018.
I was burnt out!! I worked a high-pressure position in a multinational pharmaceutical. I was on the path to promotion and ‘encouraged’ to take on more work so I can be ‘visible’ and ‘recognised’ as an expert and be promoted. This was not the first time I had been told that in a 14 year career. I was working 10 to 12 hour days, getting home and not having the energy to spend time with my family, so I found myself in February going through a 3rd bout of tonsillitis in as many months. When my doctor told me, my tonsils would have to come out if I had another bout, I said to myself and my husband enough is enough! I needed to define my own career path and what truly makes me happy to leave home each morning. I got into a coaching program and this gave me clarity on what my career and business path should be, how to get on track and an action plan to get the career and business of my dreams. It worked!!!
It was time to make a quality decision, I went through a coaching course and started coaching professionals and entrepreneurs on how they can get clarity on exactly what they should be doing: I watched their promotions come in, revenue and compensation packages increase and fulfilment in what they do become tangible! I have since made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping other professionals and entrepreneurs to regain their power and sense of purpose by providing clarity on their business path and end goals.
Since then, I have worked with many clients and spoken on a few stages. I have lived my dream of establishing myself as an entrepreneur; and I have created a coaching program that any budding entrepreneur can apply to find fulfillment in what they do and increase revenue in their business.

Options for my future
I had to re-evaluate my role which I am no longer happy with due to stress and excessive bureaucracy. Becoming action oriented
Before I started working with Ibukun I was a self-reflective person but not action oriented about the outcome of my reflections. I wanted things to be perfect before pitching to my colleagues which led to inaction as I was not confident on how to go about it. She helped me with understanding the advantage of coaching, she coached me into the right mindset and gave me the tools of being able to self-coach in work situations and also identify how situations serve me which allowed me to move to action. Never prioritised myself
Prior to working with Ibukun I was on the path to redundancy with no clear career plan or goals. I had a significant guilt issue due to the nature of my job taking up a significant amount of time that I could have spent with my family and I felt I was not able to give the appropriate amount of attention to anyone. I also never prioritised myself. Ibukun helped me create a space to consider what I wanted my life to be like in terms of career and family time. Through working with her I realised I would have settled for comfort in what I have always done professionally she questioned me to take accountability for my future career path and pursue a role that brings me joy and challenge, to also realise what really made me happy and she helped me come up with the plan on my next steps. I am now enjoying a brand-new career that has set me on a path to promotion. I am still using the wheel of life tool to identify areas of my life, especially family & friend’s time that can be improved.
